Competition RulesClub rules:-A maximum of three prints/digital images and three slides (up to "3 prints or digital images" maximum and "3 slides" maximum, so a total of 6 images in total can be entered in one competition) to be entered to any club competition, except for the "John Roberts cup" & "Maldwyns Competition" (see below for clarification). The print/digital image or slide must be less than three years old. Maximum size of prints 16 inches by 12 inches (maximum mount size 20 inches by 16 inches). Please note 500mm x 400mm maximum mount size is also allowed. Projected images will be classed as prints, and such will be competeing againt them in every internal competition. Any entry must be the entrants own work. Entries must be in two weeks before the judging night, or as quoted in the years program, any late entries WILL NOT BE ENTERED. The only competition that will not accept digital slides is the John Roberts cup Beginners class: Only one picture to score in each competition ie the highest score received on the night will count. At the end of the year the highest total will win. If there is a tie the person with most photo's entered during the year will win. So you newbies get your camera out and start taking those photo's. This years competitions 2008/9John Roberts cup - Four Landscapes on slide film ONLY (no digital slides), a maximum of two sets of four slides. Maldwyn's Competition - a set of three prints/slides of Competitive sport, Landscape & People (one of each to make up the set of three). Two sets maximum. Judge - Mr Joe Griffiths Close up - Close-up does not have to mean macro, as it only really means closer than you would usually get. For this round we're looking for photographs that show the subject in much more detail than we are used to seeing it. It could be a brick in a cathedral wall just as much it could be a greenfly on a tomato leaf. Judge - Mr Ronnie Williams Flora & Fauna - Fauna is a collective term for all kinds of animals and Flora is a collective term for all kinds of plants. It can be one or the other, or both. Judge - Mr David Flitcroft Annual cup - Open competition, maximum of three slide or prints (3 slide and 3 print maximum). Judge - Mr Tony Coloclough Water - use your imagination regarding this subject, BUT must have water in the picture. Judge - Andrew Kime Outings - Pictures taken on the summer outings only, Maximum of three pictures in any combination. Judge - Tudur Owen Life in Blaenau - as the title implies, picture in and around Blaenau, showing the life as it is in Blaenau, from sport, buildings, people etc. Enprints - Unmounted, maximum size 5 inch by 7 inch. Inter club competitionsThe rules are as above except for the following. The prints, slides or projected image will be choosen for the inter club comps by committee members. No entery will be older than five years.
