Competition Rules

Click on the individual competition to see the rules pertaining to that competition.

  1. No image shall be more than 3 years old at time of the competition judging.
  2. A maximum of three images is to be allowed in any one section ie prints, slides and digital projected image
  3. A maximum of 4 images may be entered to any one competition.
  4. Entries to be handed in when requested by the Competition Secretary, usually two weeks prior to the judging night. No late entries will be entered and returned.
  5. All prints shall not exceed 16 inches by 12 inches unmounted.
  6. If prints are mounted, the mount shall not exceed 500mm by 400mm (to comply with NWPA rules)
  7. Digital images shall be no bigger than 1400 pixels (wide) by 1050 pixels (high) at 72dpi, TIFF or uncompressed JPG.
  8. All images must have a title, written clearly and legible (No title, No entry).
  9. Slides & Prints must have the titles written in ink, NOT pencil (Indelible ink for slides, as ordinary ink smudges).
  10. Digital images shall be in the correct orientation when submitted, Comp Sec will deem the image correct and will be submitted as given, so no complaints!
  11. All images (no matter what medium) shall be collected after the judging night from the Comp Sec. He will bring them back to the club for two consecutive weeks after the judging, if not collected will be destroyed! If for some reason you are unable to collect, get someone else to pick them up for you.

 

  1. Same rules as the internal Competitions except...
  2. Must be taken between the close of this season and the start of next season. That is between April 13th 2011 and Sept 14th 2011.
  3. Images to be handed in on the first meeting of the new year.
  4. Anything to do with the subject allocated by Andrew is eligible ...use your imagination!!

  2. PDI's only
  3. Subject "Landscape"
  4. A set of PDI'sslides
  5. A maximum of two sets maybe entered
  6. If there are two sets, they must be labled "SET A" and "SET B" eg "title_set_A"
  7. The points scored in each catagory will used to determine the winner.

 

Images can only be submitted from properly organised club meetings. This means at least 2 weeks notice must be given to all club members and at least 2 members must have been at the outing to qualify as a club outing.

Any mammal excluding the following – people, agricultural animals (sheep, cows, pigs), goats (unless wild).

Submit 1 digital image for each of your preferred 5 categories chosen from the following titles:

Transport – anything that gets you from A-B>
Night-time – between sunset and sunrise
Images Water life – plants or creatures living on or in the water – no people
Weather – no landscapes. Use your imagination
Celebration card – please title it appropriately for the chosen celebration
Black and White
Close ups – this does not mean it has to be macro
Abstracts

  2. A set of three
  3. Each set will have one of each of the following subject matter: Landscape, Competitive sport & People
  4. A maximum of two sets maybe entered
  5. If there are two sets, they must be labled on the slides "SET A" and "SET B"
  6. The points scored in each catagory will used to determine the winner.

 

4 prints may be submitted.

Images to be 7” x 5” in size. 4 images can be submitted. They are to be straight from the camera – e.g . no editing in Photoshop. They will be judged by which one has the most potential.

  1. Same rules as the internal Competitions except...
  2. All images must have been taken in and around Blaenau
  3. A maximum of one landscapes may be submitted.

  2. Open competition, no subject matter, enter you best images.
  3. Maximum of three images in prints and projected (you may enter up to three prints and three slides OR three prints and three digital images = six entries)

  2. No age limit to entries
  3. Three entries
  4. The selection commitee will choose the prints/images to be entered, their decision is FINAL.
